I tested the Sinclair newly launched pattern, Estelle, and found the feminine top really appealing, and with some color illustration effect, it can make you look slimmer!

Estelle is a knit pattern. It’s semi fitted at the shoulders, bust, and hips. It’s relaxed at the waist, making it a good choice to those who wants to hide tummies. It’s a sleeveless top with three flounce options. In my photo, it’s the longest version. The flounce’s width was carefully chosen by the designer to make it look feminine, and it covers the shoulder well.
The pattern asked for knits fabric with good stretch. Normally a 4-way stretch is required to make any bindings for knit patterns. I don’t want to hem the flounce, so I chose my Polartec® Power Grid fabric in pink, but pair it with 4-way stretch Power Stretch to ensure great stretch of the body. I’ve also used the more stretch fabric as the neckline and the arm band.

I’m really happy to find that the dark side panels give human eyes the impression that there’s nothing there. Especially when you wear it with a dark bottom. It’s as if your waist is much slimmer.
The pattern is really practical, and beautiful. With the 6 major pieces (front, back, two sides, and two flounce), you can play with a variety of color and fabric combinations. Sinclair patterns have good placed notches, which makes it’s super easy to construct the top.
