Summer is here. Are you ready to make some easy to make yet stunning tops? Sinclair Pattern’s Ivy knit colorblocked tee is on the top of my recommendation list. They’ve also updated the size range and added more sleeve variations. I tested the pattern for them but my review and recommendation are based on my own opinion only.
Ivy is a Tee with front and back yokes and a center pleat at the back. It has curved hems and sleeves variations, including cap, short, three quarter or long sleeves. It’s not your ordinary T-shirts at all. It’s a fitted / semi-fitted Tee that hugs your body at the right places which appears very flattering. The center back pleat and the relaxed waist and hip fit makes it easy to hide belly fat. It’s suitable for all age groups.
The instruction of Ivy is top tier, which is always true for Sinclair patterns. They not only have the instructions step by step, but also provide photos and illustrations to clearly show you what to do, where to stich, and what way to press. The techniques they use are very good and sometimes different from the standard Big 4 ways. I feel Sinclair’s way of hemming this top much easier to achieve a perfect finish.
Conclusion
A highly recommended pattern. 5/5.
